It's Season 8, Fellowship! I hope you're enjoying the WNBA and Baseball season. If you do enjoy either of those leagues, I've got bad news for you: the Eye of Roger Goodell has opened once more! Its opening has reignited the NFL regular season and therefore reopened our beloved Fantasy Football League. Everyone has been summoned to Rivendell for the Draft on Thursday, September 3rd at 8pm Eastern! The draft lottery is on Sunday, August 31st, so join us on Discord or answer Dom’s call (or we’ll randomly assign your pick).
While you were probably out doing normie activities, Commissioner Dom was hard at work in the mines of Moria crafting the League's artificial intelligence! Lord Dominic now hosts the official league web site, showcasing league stats, player data, positional rankings, recaps, past drafts and so many more juicy details! You can check out the glorious Fellowship of the League web site here: https://www.thefellowshipleague.com/
In addition to this impressive library, this year's recaps will now be accompanied by AI generated podcasts. That's right, soulless machines will become our town criers.
However, this is far from the same Fellowship that his eye last shut upon.
Fellowship of the League: Doomsday
After years of steering the franchise astray, the writers have finally set the MCU on the right path… on a collision course with the Fellowship of the League! Suddenly and mysteriously, Middle Earth and the Marvel Universe have merged, creating an epic hybrid battleground.
But with two universes melding into one, the members of the Fellowship needed to fulfill the anchor roles of the Marvel Universe, with the essence of each choosing the most worthy soul.
Dr. Doom
The Incursion presented Dom with a unique opportunity: to remake the world in his image. Dom felt an immense amount of magical energy flow through him as he began to bring order to the chaos of two worlds merging, providing it with a schedule, stat line and draft order. However, his orange, feline form was slowly attracting silver plate mail, each piece perfectly grafting onto his Commissioner body. One could almost call this plot armor. Regardless, Dom was suddenly distracted by the sensation of a green cloak tying around him. Before he could react, the iconic metal face plate grafted onto his face. The God Emperor has recruited an elite corps. and complimentary Latverian Witches to add onto his five years of League Domination.
Thor
Window panes of the Beerserker fortress were pushed inward as Mjolnir burst forward. My attention was snapped from ogling my precious ring to catching the behemoth hammer in my hand. As soon as the handle thudded against my hand, lightning shot forth and coiled around the one ring. With a roster focused on brute force and recaps full of snarky jokes, the Fellowship gained its god of Lager.
Magneto
As Rob furiously typed up his recap template, racking his brain to strike the perfect balance between Epic narrator tone and inappropriate humor. With each passing sentence, progressively heavier metal objects began to shakily lift off the ground, levitating and swirling around Rob. The League founder has crafted a roster centered around survival of its kind and the calculated execution of its opponents, making their conditions crash down around them.
J.A.R.V.I.S.
Trevor was crunching the numbers and putting them into his machine learning model for the upcoming season. Suddenly, the keyboard folded in, latching onto his hand. Before he could react, the rest of his super computer began to envelop him. The mess of wires and hardware began to take a humanoid shape around him, forming a familiar metallic exoskeleton around the 2023 Champ. Lights flickered on inside the helmet, filling Trevor vision with windows of analytics and spreadsheets. A robotic voice sounded in Trevor’s ear, “Algorithm… ready to serve”.
Scarlett Witch
Alyssa kidnapped a whole roster of Football players, making them believe they're characters in a sitcom called Sacks in the City. However, the one illusion that Alyssa treasured most, the One Ring, has been shattered. The 2023 runner up has become enraged, her handle over the dark arts becoming almost unstoppable as she scours the Fantasyverse for a timeline where her ring exists. Teams that face her beware: she makes opponents see the worst on-the-field outcomes, forcing hasty, terrible roster decisions.
Loki
Throughout the Multiverse of his drafts, Jimmy started making some mischievous picks. One could say he was creating Variant leagues. But before each Commissioner’s TVA could catch him, Jimmy was off to the next draft. Jimmy the trickster enters the Fellowship for the third season with a new set of cards, but as the same old spoiler. The Macksucken is his weapon to wield at the start of the season.
Rogue
White streaks invaded strands of Abigail's hair as she brushed past other players, taking a piece of their powers with her. While other contenders study up, this Rogue element absorbs sheer vibes, embodying the nature of the game and throwing it back at her opponents. But did little Alice absorb all of Abigail’s energy for Fantasy this year?
Black Widow
Katie sneaks back into the League with stealthy picks and deep sleepers ready to pull upsets and steal other team's databases. When the position is right, she's also primed to call in a nuclear airstrike with one of her unsuspecting players. But after being the 4 Seed last year, can Katie stay incognito?
Spider-Man
“My name's Josh Wakeford…”, Josh's voice narrated as he walked down the street. Suddenly, a radioactive Tom Holland dropped down onto the League Smeagoll and bit him on the neck. At first Josh writhed in pain, but he recovered to learn that his Wakey senses could now alert him to dangerous roster moves. He now has superior lineup changing speed while putting enemy combatants into sticky situations.
Emo Spider-Man
“My name's Movie Chef….”, Tony's voice echoes as he suddenly bursts through a door with a weird, emo haircut and all black clothing. You'd think this is the same movie we just saw, when he suddenly breaks into bad dance moves. Wait, that's not Annie next to him, it's Gwen Stacy! Oh no, this is the shitty threesquel! Tony doesn't seem to care. But there is some suspicious black goo peaking out of his sleeve… but is it a much needed Symbiote Second Stringer, taking over the back field? Or a box office bomb?
Jeff the Landshark
Somehow, the stoic Ron has turned into an adorable, genetically modified shark. His Round 1 pick acts as a fin, intimidating his opponents until competitors are caught off guard by his unthreatening depth pieces. But don't be fooled by the cute exterior, Ron is willing to chomp at the ankles of his Marvel Rivals RB1s and drag DST into an ocean of negative points.
Kitty Pride
After getting clobbered last season, Jess has gained the ability to move through solid objects. Think your studs and land a solid blow? The League's Shadow Cat registers their performances as goose eggs, getting opponents to tire themselves out while she waits for Monday Night Football to strike.
Santa Claus
Wait, are those sleigh bells in September? Ho ho ho, boy, did Alex bring on a Christmas Incursion on top of the MCU? No, it turns out Santa is Marvel Comics canon, and an Omega Level mutant at that! Seriously, there's even a sub-plot where he makes a pass at She-Hulk. With a first rounder to lead his sleigh and a bag full of picks, Alex will decide who's naughty or nice. So be careful of leaving out some gambles and cookies for Lulu Claus this Week 1 Eve.
Groot
Tim was set to appear in Fellowship Season 4 back in 2022, only for his character to blip out on Draft Day. Instead of an origin story for a sapling, we get a grizzled, Oak Groot Peters, bringing branches of experience into Battle World. No matter how he does, Tim has already won rookie of the year! But is he putting down roots in the Fellowship? I'm grooting for it.
Our 14 heroes looked upon a world vastly changed by the incursion. Gone was the Middle Earth they had all come to love. Rather than the desolate landscape of last year’s Fallout Wasteland, the League had been decorated in the Fantastical world of Marvel. Each player now reigns as a Baron (or Baroness) over one of 14 domains. The armies have been recruited, each one wearing the colors of their hero! The top two challengers will face off above the fiery pit in Mordor Bowl VIII! Although, it looks like Mt. Doom may have a new steward…
Now, only one can rule over the entire Fellowship (or is it the Avengers now?).
The Official 2026 Schedule
Oh, who put this professional looking schedule here? That’s right, Dom even serving up a scheduled out of his brand new schedule-generation oven! Mid-season is stacked folks, we’ve got:
Week 5 - Rivalry Week
Week 7 - Battle for Middle Earth (East vs. West)
Week 9 - Significant Others Week
But here’s a little preview of Week 1:
Rob vs. Katie: What happens when a rebounding star crashes into a rising star?
Alyssa vs. Tim: Our rookie’s baptism by veteran.
Jimmy vs. Jess: Who’s Top Dawg from the 2024 Class?
Dom vs. Abigail: The 2021 Championship rematch.
Ron vs. Josh: Pittsburgh and Cleveland will never not be rivals.
Trevor vs. Alex: Can Alex actually beat Trevor for once?
Tony vs. Tom: Toilet Bowl Winner vs. Champion in a battle of opposites.

We’ve got 13 out of 14 managers returning for the season, so it’s kind of like forming the Avengers without Edward Norton. The East is coming into the season 2-0 against the West, proving that they've been the stronger of the two conferences since we began the Battle for Middle Earth (while 4 of the 7 League Champions also hailed from the East). There’s so much lore to be made, and I’m excited to take part in it with all of you.
Battle World’s Barons will be drafting their armies on Sunday September 3rd at 8pm Eastern!
The MCU is back, baby! So set your lineups, lock in, and may the ring of power favor you in our boldest season yet!
Excelsior,
Tom
